MULTILINGUAL SITES

One site, several languages

Run Finnish at / and Swedish under /sv/, or English, German and Arabic side by side. Typeroll gives each language its own home page, 404 page, tagline, cookie banner wording and search index, and links the versions with hreflang.

How it works

  • Every Page has a language. Pages without one use the site language. The page language sets <html lang>, the search index and built-in wording.
  • Language sections. Declare each extra language once with its home path, such as /sv/. Its pages get the right home link, breadcrumbs, 404 page, tagline, fallback description and cookie banner text.
  • Header and footer per language with a "Show if…" block that tests the page language.
  • Content types per language, each with its own URL pattern and Page template.
  • hreflang alternates between language versions.

Built-in wording in 50 languages

Search placeholders, breadcrumbs, previous/next labels, carousel buttons, the cookie banner and 404 pages come with wording in 50 languages. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu pages render right-to-left with a mirrored layout.

One site or one site per domain

Use language folders on one domain, or build one site per domain and link them with hreflang. Both are documented.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Questions and answers

Does Typeroll translate my content?

No automatic translation is built in. Your AI agent can translate pages through MCP, and people review them in the editor.

Is there a language switcher?

Not as a built-in block yet. The guide shows how to add one with a field and a button.

Which languages are supported?

Any language for your own content. The built-in interface wording covers 50 languages; for others, write the labels yourself.
