TYPEROLL FOR CLAUDE
Build websites with Claude. Keep them editable.
Claude can design a site, write the copy and generate the layout. The hard part is what comes after: a site other people can edit, that loads fast and that you can keep running. Typeroll gives Claude a CMS to build in, through MCP, and publishes the result as a static Astro website in your own Cloudflare account.

How it works (three steps)
- Connect Claude. Add Typeroll's hosted MCP server to Claude Code or as a custom connector in Claude Desktop, then sign in with OAuth.
- Ask for the site. Claude creates pages from native, editable blocks, sets up content types and templates, uploads media and shows you previews.
- Hand it over and publish. Editors change text and images in the visual editor. Publishing builds static files and uploads them to your account.
claude mcp add --transport http typeroll https://app.typeroll.com/api/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.
Why build in a CMS instead of generating code
| Generated code only | Built in Typeroll |
|---|---|
| Every text change goes back through the agent or a developer | Editors change text and images in a visual editor |
| One project, one repository, one person who knows it | Pages, templates and shared blocks in a CMS, with roles |
| Hosting, images, sitemaps and forms are your job | Static publishing, responsive images, sitemaps, llms.txt and forms are built in |
| A new design means rewriting files | Change a Page template or a Style once |
What Claude can do through Typeroll
- Create and edit Pages, block content, Content types and Page templates
- Create custom block types with editable fields when the built-in blocks are not enough
- Upload media and set alt text
- Read previews and publication checks
- Migrate an existing WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace or Astro site
- Publish, when you allow it
Claude works with the access of the account it signed in with. Saving, previewing and publishing are separate steps, so you decide what goes live.

What editors get
A visual block editor in the browser, previews on desktop and mobile, and an optional built-in AI assistant for everyday changes ("make the introduction shorter"). They do not need Claude, Git or a local setup.
Example
This site, typeroll.com, is built and maintained by AI agents through Typeroll's MCP server, and edited in Typeroll like any customer site.
GOOD QUESTIONS
Questions and answers
Do I need Claude Code, or does Claude Desktop work?
Both can connect. Claude Code adds the server with claude mcp add; Claude Desktop uses a remote custom connector with the same URL. Typeroll has not yet recorded version-specific end-to-end tests for each client.
Does Claude get access to all my sites?
Claude acts with the permissions of the account that signed in. A remote connection lets it choose among the Sites you can access; a local stdio connection is bound to one Site.
Can I see changes before they go live?
Yes. Content changes are drafts until saved, previews are private, and publishing is a separate step.
Where is the website hosted?
In your own Cloudflare account, built from source in your own GitHub repository. Typeroll Cloud runs the CMS.
Is it free?
Typeroll CMS is open source. Typeroll Cloud starts with a 30-day trial without a payment card, is free during the beta and then costs USD 39 per month (USD 29 billed annually). Your Claude plan is separate.
