Typeroll CMS / Open source · Beta
Build websites with AI.
Streamlined workflows and tools for people and AI agents.
Give people a visual editor and a built-in AI assistant. Publish fast, static websites to a Cloudflare account you own.
- Open source
- Self-host or use Typeroll Cloud
- Unlimited websites

01 / CREATE
Work with your own AI agent.
Use MCP or the API to create pages, model content and manage sites. Keep your choice of tools.
02 / EDIT
Give people an editor.
Your clients edit visually or ask the built-in AI assistant for a change. They do not need Git or a local development environment.
03 / PUBLISH
Keep the live site steady.
Fast, free static hosting on Cloudflare. Your published site stays independent of CMS updates — it changes when you publish.
SECURE BY DESIGN
No PHP. No database. Less to attack.
Your live website is static files on Cloudflare. No PHP, plugins or database run behind it, so there is far less to attack, patch and keep online. Editing happens in Typeroll, separate from the site your visitors see.
- No server code on the live site. Pages are plain HTML, CSS and images.
- No database to break into. Content stays in the CMS; the public site only gets the published files.
- No surprise changes. CMS updates never touch published pages. Your site changes when you publish, and new rendering behaviour is an upgrade you preview first.
- Dynamic features stay separate. Forms, Apps and Extensions run as their own services. If one is unavailable, only that feature stops working; the rest of your site stays online.
YOUR AGENT. YOUR WAY OF WORKING.
Creative freedom. The tools to build it.
AI agents can create distinctive websites: thoughtful layouts, original visuals and copy that sounds like you. Typeroll gives your agent the tools to turn that vision into a site people can edit and you can keep running.
Its built-in MCP server connects your agent to pages, templates, media, previews and publishing. Add Typeroll to your existing workflow in an MCP-compatible client, such as Claude Code or ChatGPT, where the required tools are supported. Keep working with the context, skills and connections you already use there.
MADE THIS WAY
You’re looking at an example.
This website was created from scratch with ChatGPT in under an hour — including design, copy and generated artwork, with human direction and review.
The result is a Typeroll site made of editable blocks. People can keep the content fresh in the browser, while the published website runs as static files.
Creative work with your agent.
Everyday editing for people.
Static delivery for the long run.
A BETTER HANDOFF
Power for the builder. Clarity for the editor.
Build the structure once. Let the people closest to the content keep it up to date.

Edit the heading. Choose its hierarchy and style.
A visual editor that understands the page.
Edit native blocks, reorder sections and preview the result. Reusable blocks and page templates keep shared design decisions in one place.
When the built-in blocks are not a perfect fit, ask your AI agent to generate custom block types on the fly — with editable fields people can use in the same editor.
- Text, images, layouts and structured page fields
- Drafts, saved changes and controlled publication
- Responsive previews and editing on mobile
AI FOR THE PERSON DOING THE EDITING
Just describe the change.
Make the introduction shorter. Update a headline. Improve a page description. The built-in AI assistant lets editors ask for content changes in everyday language.
Review the result in the same CMS, then use the normal publishing workflow. Your own development agent can still work through MCP or the API.

Describe a change in AI Chat. Example request, not a simulated AI reply.
CONTENT, WITH STRUCTURE
One page model. Many possibilities.
A landing page, an article or a company profile: they are all Pages. Content types define the fields and routes. Templates decide how the content is presented.
Use references, taxonomy pages and listing blocks to connect your content. Give a content type a default template, then choose another when a page needs it.

One place to manage your site’s pages.
DYNAMIC EDITING. STATIC DELIVERY.
Keep improving the CMS. Keep your live site steady.
Your public pages are static files built with Astro, a widely used web framework. Updating the CMS does not change those files. Your visitors keep seeing the published site until you choose to publish a new version.
01
Edit in Typeroll
Work in the browser or through your agent. Preview before making changes public.
02
Build with Astro
Typeroll generates buildable Astro source in your GitHub repository. Cloudflare or GitHub runs the build in the cloud.
03
Host in your own account
Cloudflare serves the static output from an account you own. Your domains, hosting and R2 media stay under your control.
Static hosting on Cloudflare Pages is free. Builds, media storage, Forms, Apps and other dynamic services have their own pricing. Static delivery keeps them separate from serving your pages.
BUILT TO BE FAST. READY TO BE FOUND.
Fast pages. Sharp images. SEO on your terms.
Start with static HTML, optimize the images and take control of the details search engines read. Typeroll gives you the tools to tune every page.
Speed starts with the architecture.
Your pages are built before a visitor arrives. Cloudflare serves the finished files without asking the CMS or its database to render each request.
- Static Astro pages delivered through Cloudflare
- Responsive images in modern AVIF and WebP formats
- Image sizes matched to the rendered layout
- Cached output and reused media when publishing small changes
Fine-tune your technical SEO.
Shape your site structure, internal links and search appearance without fighting a rigid theme. Optimize globally through templates and refine individual pages where it matters.
- Page titles, descriptions, canonicals and social metadata
- Readable routes, redirects and structured data
- Sitemaps and separate indexing and link-following controls
- Publication checks for technical defects and editorial warnings
MORE OF WHAT A REAL WEBSITE NEEDS
The everyday details, already part of the platform.

CONTENT
Blocks that work together
Start with native blocks, reusable sections and page templates. Have your AI agent create custom block types whenever the design needs something different.
WORKFLOW
Versions and previews
Work on site versions and Git branches. Share a time-limited preview before publishing.
DISCOVERY
Detailed SEO control
Titles, descriptions, canonicals, sitemaps, robots and structured data. Publication validation reports technical failures and editorial warnings.
MEDIA
A library you control
Direct uploads to connected R2 storage. Shared media domains, site-specific hosts and responsive media in the published site.
INTERACTION
Forms and analytics in Core
Contact forms, multi-step flows, submissions and notifications. Traffic, events and conversion reporting with the appropriate runtime configured.
ORGANIZATION
Multiple sites, one workspace
Organizations, access roles and Hosting Groups. Keep publishing connections shared where they belong, and site domains independent.
MIGRATION
A path from your existing CMS
Migration workflows, including WordPress, with content, media, route and redirect review. Connect your own storage before importing.
AUTOMATION
An API, not a closed canvas
MCP and REST access, an agent starter workspace and readable documentation. Request only the instructions your agent needs.
FOR FREELANCERS, AGENCIES AND TEAMS
Unlimited sites. One Cloud account.
Move between the sites you own from one Cloud account. Invite clients to the sites they should edit, with access suited to their role. Keep the shared setup with the people who manage it.
Unlimited websites in one Typeroll Cloud account. As your portfolio grows, add Cloudflare hosting accounts through Hosting Groups — without splitting your sites across separate Typeroll accounts.
Your connected Cloudflare and GitHub accounts have their own usage charges and capacity limits.
One shared workspace. Each site keeps its own identity.
START IN YOUR BROWSER
Your next site. No local setup.
Typeroll Cloud runs the CMS for you. Create a site, connect your publishing accounts and follow the setup status. Shared connections are reused when you add more sites.

01 / CREATE
Start with the content
Open Cloud, create a site and start editing or connect your agent. You can preview before connecting hosting.
02 / CONNECT
Connect accounts you own
Authorize GitHub and Cloudflare, then complete media and domain setup. The portal shows what is ready and what needs attention.
03 / CONTINUE
Work from another computer
Editing, source storage, builds and hosting run online. Publishing requires no special setup on your computer.
CHOOSE HOW YOU RUN IT
One open-source Core. Two ways to get to work.
Typeroll CLOUD · BETA
Let us run the CMS.
Open your browser and get to work. We run the CMS; you keep ownership of the accounts that build and host your websites.
- A visual editor, plus a built-in AI assistant with your own AI key
- Unlimited sites, with owner access and client editing roles
- Your own GitHub and Cloudflare accounts
- Cloud builds, with no local development environment
Free during the beta.
Then USD 49 per month for unlimited sites.
When the beta ends, you choose whether to keep your Cloud account on the paid plan. You can also move to the open-source CMS on your own infrastructure at any time.
The price covers Typeroll Cloud. Hosting and other accounts you connect are billed by their providers.
Typeroll CMS · BETA
Run it yourself.
The open-source CMS, visual editor, API, MCP and static renderer. Inspect the code and operate the CMS on your infrastructure.
- Control your CMS runtime and data
- Use the same content and editing model
- Configure your publishing and runtime services
Open-source software. Hosting, builds and connected services have their own costs.
ROOM TO GROW
A website today. Your workflows tomorrow.
Static publishing does not limit what your site can do. Connect dynamic capabilities where you need them.
Typeroll APPS · IN DEVELOPMENT
Purpose-built capabilities.
Typeroll Apps is the concept for separately operated products that connect to your site and portal — for more specialized workflows than a general CMS should own.
The app offering is in development. There is no finished public app catalog to install from yet. Apps are separate from the open-source Core; Forms and Analytics are already Core capabilities.
CUSTOM EXTENSIONS · DEVELOPER BETA
Build the part that is yours.
Connect your own service, calculator or customer workflow through the Extension protocol. Contribute site components and admin tools, while running your backend in your own environment.
The protocol and developer guides are available in beta. Building, hosting and securing a custom Extension remains the developer’s responsibility.
GOOD QUESTIONS
Before you start building.

What does Beta mean?
The platform is actively evolving. Expect changes and some workflows that still need hands-on setup. Evaluate your own use case before relying on it for a critical site. Cloud access starts with a conversation.
Do I need an AI agent to edit a site?
No. Editors can use the visual browser interface or its built-in AI assistant. Connecting your own agent through MCP or the API is a separate option for building and managing the site.
Can I start before connecting GitHub or Cloudflare?
You can create content and use previews first. Publishing requires the relevant account and domain setup. Importing media requires connected storage.
Will a CMS update change my live site?
An update to the CMS does not replace the static HTML, CSS and assets already deployed to your hosting account. A new publication builds a new site version. Connected forms, Apps and other runtime services have their own availability and updates.
Is every part of Typeroll open source?
The CMS Core, editor, API, MCP, static renderer, Forms and Analytics are open source. Managed Cloud operations and Typeroll Apps are separate. Extensions can be built and hosted independently.
Can I run a generated website independently?
The generated repository contains buildable site source. You can build and host its static output yourself. Connected Forms, Apps and Extensions still depend on their runtime services. The publishing repository is generated output: manual source edits are not a supported round-trip editing workflow.
