# Cloud trial and access Source: [Cloud trial and access](https://typeroll.com/docs/guides/cloud-trial/) > Try Typeroll Cloud without a payment card, understand expiry, and keep control of your static websites. Availability New Cloud organizations get the trial from Core 0.2.98. Existing organizations keep their current access. Self-hosted Typeroll CMS has no trial deadline by default and needs no Cloud or Autopilot Pulse account. ## Thirty days, no payment card A new Cloud organization receives 30 days for editing, previews and publishing. The deadline starts when the organization is created. Creating another Site, inviting a colleague or reconnecting GitHub does not restart it. Nothing is charged automatically when it ends. The portal shows the exact deadline under **Account → Organization access**. Use the subscription contact there to arrange continued Cloud access. Prices and a self-service checkout are not announced by this feature. You can build content before connecting publishing accounts. To publish, connect your own GitHub, Cloudflare and verified media storage in **Publishing**. These providers bill their own usage separately. Their free allowances and limits are independent of the Typeroll trial. The built-in AI assistant uses your organization’s own provider API key. There is no trial-specific AI credit allowance. Normal permissions and rate limits still apply. Your own AI agent can use OAuth or an API key through the same site-specific authorization as the editor. ## Forms during the trial Forms can receive submissions and deliver configured webhooks. Email is optional: open the Site’s **Settings → Integrations → Email & notifications**, select **SMTP**, and enter your own mail provider’s settings to send notification or confirmation emails. Test the connection before relying on it. Without SMTP, submissions and webhooks still work, but email actions are skipped. Typeroll does not silently supply a paid mail service. Authentication and trial reminder emails are separate platform messages. ## When the trial ends Without an active subscription: * New editing, imports, uploads, previews and publications stop. * Existing signed preview links stop working. They are not permanent hosting. * Forms refuse new submissions with an unavailable response. They do not claim success and discard a visitor’s data. * Previously accepted publications and deliveries can finish. A future scheduled publication is paused if access has ended when it is due. * You retain read and export access for **90 days after expiry**. Activating a subscription restores editing without changing the original trial dates. Your published static pages remain on your own hosting account. Typeroll does not delete your deployed sites, Git repositories, R2 objects or domains when Cloud access ends. Dynamic Forms are separate from those static files: make alternative contact details visible before the trial ends if you will not renew. Organization owners and administrators receive reminders seven days and one day before expiry, and an expiry notice. A delivery outage does not cause a backlog of outdated reminders to be sent to newly invited administrators. After the read/export deadline, contact support about restoring content access. That deadline is not an automatic deletion of all your customer records. ## Continue after the trial Contact [Typeroll support](mailto:thomas@autopilot.se?subject=Typeroll%20Cloud%20subscription) with your Organization name to arrange a subscription. The team confirms the terms before activating continued access. The trial does not create a payment agreement, and no payment card or automatic charge is involved. ## Export before leaving A Site administrator can open **Site settings → Advanced → Export your content → Download content export**. The authenticated API equivalent is `GET /api/v1/sites/{siteId}/export`; add `?version={id}` for a site version. The content ZIP includes CMS content, Content types, templates, configuration and media references for the open-source renderer. Media binaries remain in customer storage and need a separate copy. Credentials and private app-owned records require separate handling; configure authentication and provider access again when self-hosting. A generated publication repository contains the output needed for that published site. It is **not a complete CMS backup**. See [self-hosting](https://typeroll.com/docs/guides/self-hosting/) for the separate full installation backup and restoration procedure. ## For AI agents and API clients Select the Site first. `read_organization_access` reports its owning organization’s access, deadlines and subscription contact. A shared Site uses its owner’s access status, not the collaborating user’s own organization’s trial. The REST equivalent is `GET /api/v1/sites/{siteId}/access`; organization members can also use `GET /api/v1/access` with `Typeroll-Organization`. Locked operations return HTTP 403 with a stable code such as `organization_trial_ended`, `organization_access_ended` or `organization_access_paused`, plus permitted recovery actions. Explain the condition and offer read/export or subscription contact. Do not repeatedly retry a locked write, create another organization as a workaround, or change customer hosting. Public Forms returns `form_service_unavailable` without exposing private subscription details. Scheduled page changes that fall due after access expires are paused. Restoring access does not publish that backlog automatically: review the affected Pages and set new publication dates. Already accepted publication jobs and webhook deliveries may finish.
